How far does your father’s shadow stretch?
Liam’s father, Charles was in many films. He was killed by Kurt Russell. He was also killed by Clint Eastwood and Robert De Niro. He was shot, bludgeoned, drowned and even burned with a flamethrower. Then he died for real.
Liam is trying to make theatre, like his Dad did. People keep telling him how alike he and his Dad are. But what was his Dad like?
Part-confessional, part documentary, this show explores the life and work of a man who lived and breathed theatre, and celebrates the complex and continuing relationship between a father and son.
"Ultimately, this is an onstage catharsis, both comedic and tragic, that delivers on the promise of its bold title." – Pure M
"...this humorous, witty and wry look at a father and son relationship is deeply engaging. Hallahan’s work courageously chronicles his father’s multifaceted life, and the deep bond that is still between them. It is both sad and moving without ever veering into sentimentalism." - The Reviews Hub
The show ran from March 9th to 14th in Smock Alley Boy's School.
